Design Workshop Adobe Illustrator

Students work

In November 2007, mediasolution organized an Adobe Illustrator workshop for the mediadesign students at Republic Polytechnic. The students did not have the knowledge how to visualize their sketches and drafts on the computer.

We started with a basic training: How to setup a document, how to use the tools.

The other subjects were:

  • Vectorizing a sketch with the drawing tools.
  • Vectorizing a sketch with LiveTrace and LivePaint.
  • Creation of an underwaterworld with shapes, brushes.

Students work

The first contact with the DTP software Adobe InDesign for the new media students. There was not enough time to go too much into details of this powerful software. But the students learned some basic skills.

The subjects were:

  • Creating a club flyer.
  • Designing a cd label, booklet and inlet.
